Lazy Oak Farm

Farm Life

This is what it's all about! Life on the farm means early mornings and plenty of sweat equity, but the return on that investment is invaluable. Whether you're raising crops, caring for livestock or just tending the natural beauty that surrounds you, there's never a dull moment on the farm.

The best times are shared with family

Sure, life on the farm can mean a lot of hard work, especially when you're first starting out. The task list can seem to be a mile long and always growing. But, that doesn't mean we don't make time for family fun.

When the grandkids come to visit, a favorite request is to ride on the tractor with Grandpa — preferably in the bucket! And who can blame them? It can be as fun and exciting as any ride at Disney, without the long lines!

Thankfully, in addition to joyriding on the tractor, the whole family is happy to help out around the farm. It probably helps that sampling the produce is not only allowed, but encouraged! Very few things can beat fresh fruit and vegetables, just picked with your own hands. Every single member of our clan is particularly fond of the four different varieties of berries we're already growing.

It's too early to tell if one or more of our granddaughters will follow in our footsteps and embrace the country life. At the very least, I'm sure we're making memories that they will one day pass down to their own kids and grandkids.
